I'm using the same methodology I learned English. Reading sentences in both languages, repeating patterns along with images. This is a effective way for the brain memorize the language. I avoid to think in mother tongue, then translating and then speaking.
Also, finding the pattern in pronunciation without memorizing gramatical rules.
