Alejandra Benalcazar

By way of background, I received my bachelors degree in foreign languages from the University of Valle in Cali, Colombia. I have taught university and bilingual school courses in both full and part time situations. I have also translated for various sports and cultural events. These experiences have been important not only for Colombia but also for me personally, since they have allowed me to get to know people from different cultures all over the world.
My work history has allowed me to think more deeply about ways to leverage my understanding of language motivation and cognition as well as how I can expand my knowledge and grow personally and professionally. Each of my assignments has challenged me to be creative, nurturing and patient. That is why, most of all, I want to apply my knowledge in fields outside of traditional language instruction and teaching.
